Movers and Shakers

The first two weeks we were in Bangkok, I was getting a little nervous. Wendy wasn't learning any new words and was super clingy. Kyle wasn't rolling over or sitting up or moving much at all. He was more fussy than ever before. Luckily, after two weeks, they finally started to adjust to being on the other side of the world and 11 hours ahead of their usual time zone. Wendy now picks up several new words a day, Kyle is constantly moving in some manner, and we are all feeling quite a bit more settled here. Some friends loaned us this little play gym for Kyle. I often put him down facing one direction and find him facing the opposite direction.
Or find him mid-move.
His favorite position is now laying on his side. He doesn't like rolling all the way over, but he's quite happy on his side. Two cute kiddos after church.
Wendy's favorite game is sitting in the basket and having me hold on to the basket and run back and forth on the carpet. She also loves throwing balls into and out of the basket.
Kyle and Wendy both adore each other and they both love it when Kyle manages to softly kick or hit Wendy.

Cheese!Shopping Thai style. The cheapest grocery store has no baby chair in the grocery carts....or grocery bags for that matter. They don't even have packaged meat. You have to pick out your meat the way you pick out fruits and vegetables in the states.
Kyle loves sitting up so he can watch his energetic sister.
Wendy's choice for drinking her bottle is usually next to Kyle. I know, she's not supposed to be drinking bottles anymore. But, we'll work on that one when she feels settled here.Wendy's favorite part of any mall! Who cares about the play area when you have an escalator! Every Tuesday and Thursday, the embassy provides a family shuttle from our community to the city. We arrive at 9:30am and leave at 2. We took the shuttle to the embassy for medical appointments and had lunch with Chris. We even met up with some friends of ours from the singles ward in Virginia that happened to be in Bangkok! Chris had to get to a meeting and left lunch early. So, I walked back to the embassy, passing a tight market where everyone pinched Wendy's cheeks (until she wanted me to carry her and Kyle at the same time so she could hide), up and down stairs for an overpass, and down the street to the embassy to catch our ride home. I was very very grateful that we don't live in the city where that would be the norm!Yes, we have many strollers! But, they all have different uses! A jogging stroller, an out and about stroller, and one for when Kyle is sleeping in the Ergo carrier or something and only one kid needs a stroller.
We are so grateful for the adventures we are having and that we are finally adjusting to our life here!
