Cha Am Beach

The tricky thing about getting married in January is that it's usually difficult to find a warm place to celebrate our anniversary.  Thailand seems to have solved that problem for us!  Last weekend, we took the kids to Cha Am Beach.  It was only a two and a half hour drive and was a fabulous beach.  The hotel was great, I snuck a $20 massage in there, and we had a fun, busy weekend.  We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott.  They had some really great benefits to the hotel, but the best by far was the water slide!  We looked at this slide and thought, bummer, no slide for little kids.  But, I took Wendy on my lap once and that was it.  "Again water slide" was the theme of the rest of our trip.  She LOVED it!  It helped that we could land in the water without her head getting wet.  Kyle wasn't a fan of the slide the first day, but it grew on him and he would giggle down the whole slide and light up when we splashed into the water.

Here's Chris and Wendy about to drop out of the slide.
I must admit, I really really enjoyed the slide as well!

We also spent some time playing in the ocean.  The waves were nice and mellow and Wendy could usually stand up.  She was pretty nervous about the waves in the beginning, but had no fear by the end!

Kyle was pretty fussy when we were playing in the sand.  I finally took him in the water and he lit up.  That's my boy!

We paid $1 for each of our beach chairs with the umbrella.  A constant flow of vendors came by to sell us stuff.  They were good about walking by if you avoided eye contact.  But, we bought lunch, fresh fruit, water, table cloths, a wooden carved python, and sunglasses from the comfort of our beach chairs. It was pretty nice.  They never bothered us when we were playing in the sand.

Kyle got so tired that he crashed in my arms.  Definitely a rare, treasured moment for me!!

The hotel had a Kids World where the kids could go on the slide, play with the balls, play with blocks, dress up, etc.  Kyle was thrilled to be surrounded by many balls to throw.  Wendy loved sliding into the balls.

Thanks for the great trip Chris! Happy Anniversary!

Some of my favorite things....

We sure have busy, happy little munchkins.  Wendy loves to push buttons on a keyboard like mommy and daddy do.

Kyle loves to be outside and moving.  He's quite good at moving around in the little car!

Wendy loves her balance bike from Santa!  There are no pedals or training wheels so she just learns to balance.  She's getting quite good at it!  She usually rides her bike when we all go get daddy after work where he's dropped off.

We love going to the park and the pool!  We don't get many pictures at the pool though.  We have a cautious little girl who wants to be holding on to a parent and a busy little boy who can tip over the flotation device with double inter tube rings that I used to think was a little overboard cautious.  So, we are quite busy at the pool.  Here are some pictures from the park though.

Talk about a messy baby!

It was very humid this day.  He has a bit of a fro.

Kyle can now get all the way up the stairs with no help or encouragement.  Yikes!  We need my dad to come teach him how to go down the stairs like he taught Wendy!!

Cuddles with daddy.

Occasionally Wendy stops to give Kyle a quick push before moving around the playground.

We LOVE shoes!!
